Richard Godley qualified as a Mechanical Engineer from University College Dublin.
After two years in the UK with Rolls-Royce Aerospace, Richard spent fifteen years in a variety of electronics companies in Ireland, in roles from Manufacturing engineer to Production and Quality manager. He developed Lean Manufacturing and other techniques to achieve spectacular results. During this time he qualified as a CPIM with the American Production and Inventory Control Society - a move that brought him into the materials management area.
Richard joined KPMG for five years as an operations management consultant. This work took him into a large variety of client types, manufacturing, services and Government, in pursuit of a better service, quality or profit level. Much of this work involved assessing client situations, devising plans and programs and delivering a result.
For the next ten years, Richard worked independently as a management consultant, before co-founding Songfield Limited, with four other consultants/managers.
In Songfield, Richard has developed expertise in Pharmaceutical manufacturing systems, specialising in MES and ERP systems selection and implementation.
Richard also provides clients with services related to Lean, materials and supply chain management. He has also carried out interim management roles in this area.
Richard was a founder member of the BCN.
Founded in 2002 by four industry practitioners. Specialisms initially were process re-engineering, organisational development and systems and lean manufacturing. Over the years Songfield has concentrated on project management services in the Private Hospitals, Pharmaceutical and Food manufacturing sectors.
